Above PAR Advisors was sought out by a major New York university and teaching hospital to remedy entrenched, systemic inefficiencies in their academic scheduling system and curriculum delivery.

The challenge was that insufficient academic scheduling procedures hampered the accessibility of the college’s curriculum and consequently prevented an efficient and reliable interaction with students.

Such issues often are not adequately addressed internally because the institutions lack the time and availability necessary for devoted action or rely upon generic solutions that do not resolve the matter.

Above PAR Advisors reformed institutional systems and structures, through a “high-velocity change management” approach, stabilizing processes and acclimating constituencies to avoid disrupting regular functions.

As a result of our work we delivered, among other things:

  • Potentially 1,000s of hours of departmental and faculty productivity re-introduced to the College ($100s of thousands/year) by eliminating the time devoted to manually scheduling, and inefficient faculty performance.

  • Eliminated a potential wasteful development spend of $135,000+ 

  • An easier platform upon which to introduce and scale future curriculum reform

  • Realistic calendar black-outs and adjustments, and rotate faculty assignments

  • Potentially 1,000s of hours of departmental and faculty productivity re-introduced to the College ($100s of thousands/year) by eliminating the time devoted to manually scheduling, and inefficient faculty performance

  • Academic scheduling – off-line modeling of changes and testing introduced for the first time
